Advocacy

Since graduate school, I have been active in the LGBTQIA+ community. In 2011, I co-founded the Transgender Health Network (T-Net) with two other psychologists in order to increase services for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Individuals. I helped run T-Net for 10 years. I have provided numerous trainings on gender-affirming care, including presentations at national conferences such as the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, the Missouri Psychological Association and for numerous local clinics and institutions, such as the Boone County Department of Health, the Psychological Services Clinic, the University of Missouri and Stephens College. I also participated in the steering committee and presented at the Summit to Improve Transgender Collaborative Health Care (STITCH) in both 2019 and 2020.

At present, I am a member of The Center Project’s Development Committee and the principal organizer of the Rainbow Ride, which raises funds for emergency services of LGBTQIA+ individuals in need.
